“The title of the song ‘Beauty and Sadness’ was taken from a novel by the Nobel prizewinning Japanese author Yasunari Kawabata. The title was so evocative that it simply dictated the style of the lyric. It was definitely influenced by my reading a lot of Japanese novels at the time.” -Pat DiNizio
