"The Lost Album" by The Smithereens has just been released 1/26/24 on Limited Edition Gold Vinyl with Gatefold. Only 1000 copies pressed.

If you look closely as an homage to the late Pat DiNizio, there’s a special message in the dead wax in the run-out groove on Side 1, which reads “This One’s for Pat.”

This previously unreleased full length album was recorded in the fall of 1993. While the band was in between contracts with Capitol and RCA, they ventured into Crystal Sound Studios NYC to write and record a new album for their own label. The result of those one month marathon recording sessions is this album, unheard by the outside world until now, and appropriately titled The Lost Album. The CD version was released on 9/23/22.
