THE SMITHEREENS OFFICIALLY OPEN THE CARTERET PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

New Jersey Hall of Fame members The Smithereens – Jim Babjak, Dennis Diken, and Mike Mesaros – are proud to be performing at the Official Grand Opening of the brand new Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center in Carteret, NJ. Also billed as their Homecoming, the concert takes place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 8PM. Joining the band will be special guest vocalists Robin Wilson (of the Gin Blossoms) and Marshall Crenshaw. This marks the first time both will be splitting vocal duties with the band for an entire show. NJ Gov. Phil Murphy will be cutting the ribbon earlier in the day, officially kicking off the festivities.

Located in the center of the Arts District, the new Carteret Performing Arts Center serves as a destination for the performing arts, educational events, live entertainment, and community engagement. Situated on the site of the former Ritz Theatre, the venue is a multi-level, flexible space that boasts a main floor concert/comedy/entertainment hall with theatre seating, a lower level comedy/jazz club with piano lounge, and a rooftop lounge.
