FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has just announced that the veteran Jersey rock band, THE SMITHEREENS, will be inducted into the NEW JERSEY HALL OF FAME, in the Performing Arts Category! The announcement was made at a press conference in Newark Liberty International Airport on June 10. The Smithereens - Jim Babjak, Dennis Diken, Mike Mesaros, and the late Pat DiNizio - will be inducted at the 11th annual ceremony to be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the Paramount Theatre on the Asbury Park, NJ, Boardwalk. 2020 will mark The Smithereens' 40th year as a band!
